这组粮票的发行背景，根植于中国长达四十余年的计划经济粮食供应体系。

During the era of ration coupons in New China, grain coupons, as the core credential of the principle that 'people regard food as heaven,' carried the collective memory of several generations of Chinese people. This set of 22 grain supply coupons and flour supply coupons from Chengdu, with its complete varieties, distinct era characteristics, and strong local features, has become a valuable physical record of the grain supply system in Chengdu during the planned economy era. Every small coupon bears the social and economic landscape, urban scenery, and everyday life details of a specific historical period, serving as a condensed "culinary history" of Chengdu citizens. The issuance of this set of grain coupons was rooted in China’s more than forty-year planned economy grain supply system.

票券的设计与印刷，是这套粮票最具时代特色的部分，每一枚都融合了成都城市风貌与时代审美。首先是图案元素的选择：早期的成都市粮食供应票，壹市斤面额的票面上，绘制的是成都标志性的望江楼（崇丽阁），这座建于清代的古建筑，以其飞檐翘角的造型成为成都的文化符号，1975 年版的壹市斤粮票以绿色为底色，望江楼掩映在江水与树木之间，线条简洁流畅，充满了地方文化气息；1981 年版的壹市斤粮票则以浅棕色为底色，同样采用望江楼图案，仅在细节处做了微调，体现了同一面额票券的延续性。而成都市面粉供应票的图案，则统一采用了成都人民公园内的辛亥秋保路死事纪念碑，这座建于 1913 年的纪念碑，是纪念四川保路运动的重要历史建筑，也是成都近代革命历史的象征，1979 年版的伍市斤、拾市斤面粉票，均以纪念碑为核心图案，周围辅以树木与街景，红色、紫色的底色搭配黑白线条的图案，庄重而醒目，既展现了成都的城市地标，也暗含了对革命历史的纪念，是那个年代 “红色文化” 与地方特色结合的典型设计。

The design and printing of the coupons are the aspects of this set of ration tickets that most distinctly reflect the era, with each ticket integrating both the urban features of Chengdu and the aesthetic sensibilities of the time. First, consider the selection of design elements: the early food supply tickets of Chengdu at the denomination of one jin feature the city's iconic Wangjiang Tower (Chongli Pavilion) on the ticket face. This ancient structure, built in the Qing Dynasty, became a cultural symbol of Chengdu with its upturned eaves and elegant architectural form. The 1975 edition of the one-jin ration ticket used green as the background, depicting Wangjiang Tower nestled among the river and trees, with streamlined and smooth lines full of local cultural flavor. The 1981 edition of the one-jin ration ticket featured a light brown background and also used the Wangjiang Tower motif, with only minor adjustments in detail, reflecting continuity in the design of tickets of the same denomination. As for the design of Chengdu's flour supply tickets, they consistently feature the Memorial Monument for the Fall of the Sichuan Railway Protection Movement in People's Park, Chengdu. Built in 1913, this monument commemorates the Sichuan Railway Protection Movement and serves as a symbol of Chengdu's modern revolutionary history. The 1979 editions of the five-jin and ten-jin flour tickets centered on the monument, complemented by surrounding trees and street scenes. The combination of red and purple backgrounds with black-and-white line illustrations is solemn and striking, showcasing the city's landmarks while subtly commemorating revolutionary history. This design exemplifies the typical integration of 'red culture' with local characteristics during that era.

For enthusiasts of grain coupon collection, this constitutes a rare set of local grain coupon materials. Additionally, as an important category of 'red collections' and 'era memory collections,' grain coupons have increasingly attracted attention in recent years. Especially those urban grain coupons with local characteristics and vivid designs, their collectible and historical value continues to rise.
